Ten Acre shows just how great it tastes (for the third year running)
The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. Described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’ you can see why the Ten Acre Villagers were delighted with the news.
The Ten Acre collection, already boasted 8 award-winning flavours; Ambrose Popperley’s Wasabi Popcorn, Auntie Winifred’s Sweet & Salty Popcorn, Pastrami in the Rye, When the Cheese Met the Onion, The Secret of Mr Salt, When Hickory Got BBQ’d, The Day Sweet & Sour Became Friends and When the Chilli Got Sweet all proudly display the prestigious ‘Great Taste Award’ sticker on the front of their packs.
Joining them this year, will be Lucia Popperley’s Cappuccino Popcorn – a delectable cappuccino flavour with a fabulous aroma that transports you all the way to Milan! Judges comments for Lucia’s Cappuccino Popcorn included: ‘An enticing coffee aroma. The texture of this corn is great and the flavour is lovely‘. Another judge described the winning flavour to have ‘a wonderfully creamy coffee flavour, as you have described’.
It’s not just Lucia that will be celebrating. ‘When the Pepper Crack’d’ hand-cooked crisps also scooped an award, with it’s spicy taste of cracked black pepper combined with the crunchiness of Great British potatoes. ‘We absolutely loved the texture of these crisps‘ and ‘The flavour of the pepper is wonderful’ are just some of the comments from the judges. The Ten Acre Villagers are delighted!
Sebastian Salt (Mayor of Ten Acre) would like to make visitors to Ten Acre Village aware that they can try the award-winning flavours from fine food shops nationwide, and in 40+ countries around the globe, as well as UK retailers Holland & Barrett, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, Booths and Amazon! Hurrah!
